MoveOn.org: "Jindalcare"

After ART NOT WAR helped MoveOn call him out for denying health care to 242,000 Louisiana residents, Governor Bobby Jindal wrote a truly wacked-out op-ed in the Shreveport Times, accusing the organization of discriminating against disabled people through their support of Obamacare’s Medicaid expansion. At this point, the Governor deserved to be made fun of just a little bit. So MoveOn asked ART NOT WAR to create an ad portraying Obamacare’s pathetic alternative: “Jindalcare.” We enlisted actor David Moscow (who played the young Tom Hanks in the classic movie Big) to portray an infomercial-style huckster for Jindalcare’s dubious benefits: “No application, no insurance card, no health care!” And while we were at it we also created a version of the ad for another egregious Medicaid denier, Speaker William Howell of Virginia.

“Jindalcare” reached an audience of millions when MoveOn executive director Anna Galland discussed it on All in With Chris Hayes, Disrupt with Karen Finney, and The Ed Show. And just a few weeks after “Jindalcare” aired, the state of Louisiana finally dropped their lawsuit against MoveOn.
