2016 Presidential Forum
MoveOn has held a Town Hall style forum for the Democratic candidates in each presidential election since 2004. For the 2016 election they decided to hold the event via interactive video. ART NOT WAR was drafted to produce the even from top to bottom. We collected more than 11,000 questions on video from MoveOn members across the country, played on camera for each candidate at our shoot in Washington DC. The forum gave voice to more substantive progressive issues than those typically found on the network news and hundreds of thousands watched the full 20 minute program (along with a series of shareable breakaway videos we produced highlighting individual questions). After the forum was released MoveOn members chose, overwhelmingly, to endorse Bernie Sanders as the Democratic nominee for President. As we all know, Bernie didn’t clinch the nomination but his influence on the Democratic platform still resonates today.
