Produced and Co-Directed by Art Not War’s David Ambrose and investigative journalist Greg Palast, The Best Democracy Money Can Buy is a feature documentary that was released in theaters nationwide in September, 2016. The film follows Palast as he uncovers a right wing scheme to suppress minority votes through a GOP-created government database called The Interstate Voter Registration Crosscheck Program.

With the the 2016 election coming down to just a few thousand votes in key swing states, Crosscheck may have been program that gave the Electoral College to Donald Trump. Palast’s investigation looks at the key players behind crosscheck and the billionaires who finance them–from Donald Trump to foreclosure king John Paulson and vulture investor Paul Singer. The film features appearances cameos from the likes of Willie Nelson, Rosario Dawson, Shailene Woodley, Ice-T, Ed Asner and Richard Belzer. On the day after the 2016 election, The Best Democracy Money Can Buy became the #1 streaming documentary on Amazon.
